High-end men's scarves. GOTS certified organic cotton, linen and merino wool. Founded in Paris.

The origins of the chèche

Originally, the chèche is a type of scarf approximately 4 to 8 meters long, worn by Tuareg men, a Berber people, in the desert regions of North Africa. Traditionally, men wrap it around their head and face to protect themselves from the sun and the dry desert wind, but also to conceal their emotions. It can come in various colors such as red, yellow and green, but two colors hold special significance. White is worn as a sign of respect on special occasions. The indigo chèche is worn on festive days. Its dye, often indigo-based, tends to stain the skin, earning the Tuareg the nickname "blue men".It was also adopted by certain units of the French army stationed in the Sahara or other desert regions, particularly by infantry and legionnaires, and has since spread to most units operating in high-temperature zones. This tradition of scarves and wraps can be found across most countries, where it is part of history and local traditions. It is known as Krama in Cambodia, Kiffeyeh…It is this cultural heritage and natural elegance that inspired the creation of AV08 Paris. Founded in Paris by Hélène Gadenne, the brand offers a collection of high-end men's scarves, crafted from certified natural materials, GOTS organic cotton, linen and merino wool. Each model bears the name of an extraordinary place around the world.
